2011年に製作され、日本でもヒットした韓国映画「サニー 永遠の仲間たち」を篠原涼子、広瀬すずの主演、「モテキ」「バクマン。」の大根仁監督でリメイクした青春音楽映画。90年代、青春の真っ只中にあった女子高生グループ「サニー」。楽しかったあの頃から、20年以上という歳月を経て、メンバーの6人はそれぞれが問題を抱える大人の女性になっていた。「サニー」の元メンバーで専業主婦の奈美は、かつての親友・芹香と久しぶりに再会する。しかし、芹香の体はすでに末期がんに冒されていた。「死ぬ前にもう一度だけみんなに会いたい」という芹香の願いを実現するため、彼女たちの時間がふたたび動き出す。現在の奈美役を篠原、高校時代の奈美役を広瀬が演じるほか、板谷由夏、小池栄子、ともさかりえ、渡辺直美らが顔をそろえる。90年代の音楽シーンを牽引した大ヒットメーカー、小室哲哉が音楽を担当。
